witches and witchcraft, what are they?

a witch is a person male or female that is a wonderer and a wanderer always wanting to experience new things always traveling and wanting to travel to new places especially with in the mind always wanting to be challenged and take his/her mind to places that no one else can go. they push themselves to do things that no ordinary person would even imagine doing a witch is a person who is able to use there ability of magick for good and understands that it is not to be used for selfish and self serving reasons only to be able to better understand ones self through spirit and faith and to better strenghten the soul and allow the person to become better in everything they do. a witch is a person who knows how to control these things and knows how to use them to better his ability in life. in history though witches were villified characters of people who just didnt want to believe in change and difference. historically witches were seen as shamans and magic people and in the predominant religion of the time (christianity) no one wanted to believe in anything else so anyone who was thought to "practice magick" was put on trial and sometimes unfairly executed in many ways, in later years they actually came up with different "tests" to see if you were a witch or not. dunking and burning and many things that could be seen as torture today, historically it has also been found that there may really have not been magick being practiced but most of the people in this puritan society were being poisoned with their own stock of wheat! they were being poisoned by a fungus known as ergot so back during this time alot of very innocent people were slaughtered and died for no real reason and i believe it was at this point we lost all freedom to practice anything we wanted that is why today most other religions are looked down upon or strangely upon in other sects of religion. wicca is one of these religions that is not really "believed to be a religion" by most people although this is not my view i believe wicca is just as much a faith as any other faith that anyone else in the world practices.

witchcraft is the ability to be able to use the powers that you already posess as a natural human and to be able to amplify them and cast them in use for the bettering of your life and the things around you i believe witchcraft really isnt a physical thing that can be felt but it is more of a spiritual "magickal" thing that if you believe you can achieve anything. the ability of a witch to do witch craft only depends on the way the witch percieves the use of such craft. witchcraft is supposed to be used to strengthen ones self and emtional value and to able that person to see everything else in a better more positive light, although historically speaking witchcraft has not always been seen as such. it has been seen as something physical that is used to harm people and scare people and used as a manipulative tool to gain things for anothers control etc etc. the use of witchraft in this case is very discpicable and i believe that the ones who use/used it for this manner never fully got what they deserved and they always ended up going down the wrong road. my new found road in wicca is teaching me lots i am still learning the ways of witchcraft and the ways of a witch i hope one day to be able to feel the energies of the earth and be more intune with my magick self.

  1. Facebook is being a BITCH the last few days! GGRR!

So what caused you to come out of the broom closet?
I'm sorry that your mother didn't take it well. My mother-in-law didn't take it well either when Brendon told her I was Wiccan. SHe immediately assumed that I worshipped Satan and has never really given me a chance to explain the truth.
As for not believing the Bible? I was brought up to believe "never believe everything you read". Just because people claim that the Bible is the word of God, doesn't make it so.
In fact, there is new evidence that points to the story of the Bible having been stolen from the Egyptians's paintings, dating back to 2000 years BEFORE the Bible was said to have been written! (You can google that if you like! It really should the foundation of Brendon's family belief when I told them about that! :P )
Unfortunately, she's going to be upset no matter what you say about Wicca or trying to explain why you feel more drawn to it than Christianity. But maybe make a point of mentioning that you're still the same person, nothing has changed in that regard. Maybe it will give her a small feeling of solace.
But I'm glad you're sticking to you guns about Wicca. :) Believing in this doesn't make you a bad person. It just shows how close-minded others are in the face of change. :)

    Blessed be!

P.S. Have you chosen a deity or deities to research yet? :)
